Our Working Group

The Graduate Working Group on Environmental Humanities was established in September 2023 at Johns Hopkins University. Sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute, the group seeks to bring together graduate students (M.A. or Ph.D.) from various disciplines whose research is partially or wholly related to Environmental Humanities, or who possess an interest in this field. Our working group convenes on a monthly basis to share the progress of members' research, discuss recent publications pertinent to Environmental Humanities, and benefit from the insights and perspectives of fellow graduate students. We believe that this group facilitates collaboration among the numerous graduate students engaged in Environmental Humanities at Johns Hopkins University, thereby enhancing their research efforts and commitment to addressing climate change and the ecological crisis within an academic framework.
